Notes

For celebration of Russian seasons the Sadler's Wells artistic director Alistair Spalding took a smart idea. He asked himself: "If Diaghilev were alive and well in London today, which artists would he commission and what kind of collaboration would he encourage?"
As result:
McGregor's "Dyad 1909" ("fluid, supple backs, hyperextensions and amazingly mobile arms characteristic of McGregor's choreography").
Russell Maliphant's "AfterLight" inspired by an abstract figurative sketch by Nijinsky to Satie's "Gnissiennes" (the dancer moved "in harmony with the patterns of light and shadow on stage. It really did seem as if Proietto was the sketch come to life... which most realized the spirit of Diaghilev").
Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui's "L'apres-midi d'un faune"
Javier De Frutos' "Eternal Damnation to Sancho and Sanchez".

Diaghilev's approach to collaboration stage became so common in nowadays that it has nothing surprising. So the question remains what may be reincarnation of Diaghilev's spirit today?
